Piercings have become a mainstream body art adornment in contemporary culture (as have tattoos).  Piercing jewelry usually comes in the form of barbells or rings,  Not only can one witness a music video featuring pop star moving her hips sensuously revealing a belly ring set with a diamond, but you are likely to see with a waitress with a tongue stud, a construction worker with earrings, university  librarians with lip rings, and even traffic cops sporting nose rings, eyebrow barbells, or other piercings.

History of Piercings

Historically, piercings have long been a form of in many cultures around the world.  A person in the  modern world may get a  body piercing  as a form of self expression, or perhaps to commemorate and  important event.  Historically, body piercings have long taken place in cultural all over the globe. Australian Aborigine tribes have traditionally acquired body piercings, as have peoples of the Amazon
jungle.  Piercing of the body to yield jewelry and other adornments has also occurred in cultures of
India, Native American nations,  the tribes of Chad, and a number of other cultures.

Traditionally, adornment with body piercings marked royal status of among the   Maya as a part of
certain rituals.   The ancient Kama Sutra text of India  mentions body piercing.  Nowadays, piercings are
highly fashionable in contemporary society, and several  famous celebrities sport  piercings, generating
the trend.  Naval piercings and eyebrow piercings are very trendy.  Nose studs and lip rings are popular
too.

Eyebrow rings or pierced ears for multiple earrings are quite tame in comparison to tongue barbells,
nipple piercings,  or labia piercings and other kinds genital piercings.

Nickel Free Alloys are a Good Idea for Jewelry, Especially Piercings

A downside of the modern trend of piercing is the occurrence of piercing-related infections, damage
to tooth enamel by the barbell in tongue piercings, and other piercing-related health threats.  Another
consideration is the development of metal allergies, in particular to nickel, a common component of
metal jewelry alloys.  Women are particularly prone to nickel allergies, a condition that affects around
12 % of the population.  The allergy usually manifests itself in mild ways such as skin rashes, but is quite
severe in rare cases.

This is especially significant when it comes to piercings. After all, piercings have greater contact with
the flesh than regular jewelry. To tackle this health danger of nickel allergies, Europe is phasing out the
use of nickel in jewelry, and other countries such as the USA at least require that jewelry containing
nickel is labeled as such. Nickel free white gold jewelry for piercings are one innovation to meet this
concern.

With Proper Use, Piercings are Another Adornment to Color Up People’s LIves

If practiced responsibly with regards to one’s health, piercings may garner a lot of attention and may even be shocking, yet are really just a harmless another form of self-expression — body art.  The resurgence and escalating popularity of this practice may baffling, and many people speculate on what it signifies.

Piercings Have a Long History and are Likely Here to Stay

Whatever the case may be, piercings  have been practiced by a multitude of cultures around the world since time immemorial, and acquiring a piercing is the continuation of a human long-time human tradition.

Comfortable Ecco Shoes and Sandals

Posted on June 8th, 2008 in Main Content by admin

In the world of fashion, comfort and style don’t often mix. That’s why I really
love Ecco Shoes. I had never even heard of ECCO  SHOES until my sister and I went to Disney and she was wearing a pair of Ecco sandals. They were very good looking, and they didn’t seem to bother her feet at all.

My recent run of bad luck buying good looking sandals for big money that absolutely destroyed my feet made me rather cautious. I’ve wasted a lot of dough on sandals that sit in my closet.

Then she told me that she had walked all over Italy in them and never had
a blister or tired feet or anything. That they were the only shoes she wore
on her Italian vacation. Now, I was interested.

These are the Ecco sandals sis was wearing. Customers give it a five star rating and you know why. Velcro straps, too.  Perfect adjustments.

I didn’t get the very same thing, of course. I bought the Ecco Primo 3 Strap Sandals. You just don’t get this kind of style and comfort in a cheap shoe, or even in other high priced designer shoes.

Soa month goes by, and I’m betting that I’d really love a good sport shoe by the same company. And I was right. I got the Ecco Perth. It has great traction
and suits me fine for my daily, er, three times a week, runs. Check out the
cool open heel.

OK, now I’m in collector mode. Going for some snappy dress shoes next. If
you haven’t really experienced “walking on air” you should give Ecco shoes
a try.

I’m so glad I found out about Ecco shoes and sandals. They are so stylish AND they baby your feet. What a combo! They use a lot of soft nubuck leather in their designs, and the shoes and sandals all have a miracle (well at least IMHO…) sole, that keeps your feet dry and fresh.

Dooney & Bourke Handbags

Posted on May 28th, 2008 in Main Content by shareapost

If you are looking for simple elegance in your purse’s design try checking out a Dooney & Bourke handbag. This item is one of the hottest accessories this year and it promises to keep its popularity in years to come. The staying power of the Dooney & Bourke handbag is its simple lines and timeless style that never goes out of fashion among those in the know.

The Dooney & Bourke handbag has been described as funky and modern but the item is in no way pretentious at all. You can be comfortable in choosing this designer accessory for nearly any occasion. It stands out and is quite noticeable but it is not overwhelming. The quiet elegance of the Dooney & Bourke handbag is its signature strength.

Some other designers go over the top with trendy bags that quickly go out of style. You can spend hundreds of dollars on one of these items only to find yourself tucking it shamefully away in the back of your closet in a matter of months. A Dooney & Bourke handbag will not go out of style; you can wear it proudly for years to come.

This makes the Dooney & Bourke handbag a great overall value to the customer. The quality of the merchandise and the timeless beauty of the design make the purse a steal. Consider the money that you will save by purchasing one or two quality items that never go out of fashion rather than several dozen trendy purses that are of no use after the fad has passed.

In addition, you may be thinking that this designer purse costs well over its actual price. You can find a quality Dooney & Bourke handbag for as little as $60. The most expensive purse in the collection tops out at around $500. This may seem a little steep but you can easily spend this much on trendy items that are of no use in a matter of months.

The designs are subtle but sophisticated and you are sure that you have a quality product when you purchase a Dooney & Bourke handbag. This item is a definite must-have for any fashonista who is still in the trendy era of her life.

Hot Fash Party Dresses are SEXY

Posted on May 27th, 2008 in Main Content by admin

Hot Fash Dresses

While I’m not entirely sure that I am brave enough to wear some of these spicy party dresses, I AM entirely certain that Hot Fash deserves the “Trendy” label.

Hot Fash Scoop Neck Dress

Take a look at the very mini open front halter dress in royal blue. How cool is that? It comes with a matching bikini top to wear underneath…ok I could probably do that. Also in hot mustard.

Off the should pink dress

Hot Fash pulls out the stops with their primo hot pink stretch draped-sleeve mini dress. I just love the off the shoulder look, don’t you? Better wear some pretty panties, as this baby is shoooort. It comes in royal blue, grey and white, too. Only comes in small and large sizes, though. Too bad if you’re a medium :)

sleeveless dress with sequins

Not all of this company’s dresses are so open front, but all of them have spectacular style and fashion sense. Like this stunning sleeveless black Julietta number with sequins across the breast and at the hem.

Hot fash has extended their trendy design into shirts and tops, really superb evening gowns and even shoes. If you’re going for sexy, Hot Fash shoes are really going to get him going. Great brand, sexy clothes.
